When we entered 2020, BDx’s inaugural year in business, we never could have predicted the reality of what was looming ahead. As a new company, we had several checkboxes to fill, and we think it’s safe to say that weathering through a global pandemic wasn’t one of them. How wrong we were! 

As we embark on another trip around the sun, we at BDx wanted to take the time to reflect on all of the accomplishments we achieved amid these challenging times. The strength, resilience, passion, and determination exhibited by our team of #BDxperts truly exemplifies our core values and commitment to be the best at what we do for our customers and one another.

So today, let’s take a trip down memory lane and put a spotlight on BDx’s inaugural year. A year that will soon not be forgotten, filled with triumph, hope, grit, and although virtual, togetherness. 

From emerging across the continent of Asia and launching innovative solutions and partnerships to speaking at events and winning major awards, here are monumental highlights from BDx’s inaugural year.

1. BDx Announces Construction of Nanjing Data Center‍

One year ago  we kicked off the year by breaking ground in Nanjing, China, and beginning the work of building our state-of-the-art data center, NKG1. Set to open its doors within weeks, this carrier-neutral facility will empower enterprises with the ability to scale and transform across Asia. 2. BDx Announces Acquisition of Data Center in Singapore

In April, BDx acquired and modernized a 1,500 rack facility in Singapore, the area that is often referred to as a miniature “Silicon Valley.” SIN1 is already expanding, and Singapore is among the top three data center hubs in the world. 3. BDx Hosts Executive Roundtable – A Look into Asia – Paving the Path Ahead.

Top industry leaders from BDx provided key insights into how the APAC region began weathering the COVID-19 storm. In this roundtable, we provided our first-hand knowledge on how an economy can not only move through the pandemic but thrive in its wake. To watch the replay, click here. 

4. BDx CEO, Braham Singh, Recognized in Data Economy’s Prestigious APAC 50 and Jennifer Spano, BDx’s Head of Global Marketing, Named One of the World’s 50 Most Influential Marketers ‍

As the seasons changed, our momentum accelerated. In May, our CEO, Braham Singh, was named one of the Top 50 Data Center and Cloud Influencers across the Asia Pacific region by Data Economy’s prestigious #APAC50! The APAC 50 celebrates the fifty personalities who are leading the region through charting new innovations or technological breakthroughs, sheer investment or business acumen, or exceptional entrepreneurial skill sets. 

Assembling a dream team of talent and building a portfolio of data centers is no small feat, especially during the current landscape. However, Braham continues to amaze and encourage us with his strength, leadership and ability to guide us through the most challenging of times. Congratulations, Braham! 

Things really heated up in June, when our Head of Global Marketing, Jennifer Spano, was named one of the World’s Most Influential Marketers in the Data Economy. The entire BDx team couldn’t be more proud and excited that Jenn was honored with this prestigious recognition and was included among such a talented, diverse, and well-respected group of global marketers. 

5. BDx NKG1 Data Center First to Receive Uptime Institute’s Tier III Certification in Nanjing

The summer brought us another fiery honor when our Nanjing data center received the Uptime Institute Tier III Certification of Design Documents. Uptime Institute is the IT industry’s most trusted and adopted global standard for the proper design, build and operation of data centers. NKG1 is the first data center in Nanjing to earn the certification. Read all about it here. 

6. BDx and SpaceBelt Deliver Data Security-as-a-Service to Asia

In September, we launched an out-of-this-world partnership with SpaceBelt Pte. Ltd., a subsidiary of Cloud Constellation Corporation, focused on offering secured data storage services through the Cloud Constellation SpaceBeltTM Data Security-as-a-Service (DSaaS) offering. This alliance makes BDx the first and only data center service provider in Asia to partner with SpaceBelt to expand SpaceBelt’s innovative data security platform in Asia, offering customers access to SpaceBelt’s space-based secure data storage services. 7. BDx Launches Data Center Spotlight Series

8. BDx is Shortlisted for the Global Carrier Awards’ Best Strategic Acquisition

What an honor it was to be shortlisted by Capacity Media’s renowned Global Carrier Awards for the strategic acquisition of our Singapore facility from Telstra. 10. BDx Welcomes Cogent to Singapore (SIN1) Facility

In December, we announced that our Singapore (SIN1) data center facility would now be offering services from Cogent Communications, adding to our already highly popular meet-me room. Cogent Communications is among the top three globally ranked carriers specializing in providing IP transit, dedicated internet access, Ethernet transport, SD-WAN and colocation services.
