The latest episode of our empowering blog series, The Women Behind BDx, leads us to Karin Wong, Senior Manager-Human Resources for BDx based in Hong Kong. New to the BDx team, Karin brings a wealth of HR experience and knowledge to the table and will play an integral role in expanding BDx’s already distinctive and diverse company culture. 

Karin believes in the importance of work-life balance, especially for working mothers across industries, and plans to use her voice to empower all women to maintain a healthy lifestyle, both physically and emotionally, without sacrificing their productivity.

How would you describe the BDx culture?

The leadership is very open-minded, and they promote a very diverse and welcoming environment where all cultures are accepted and treated equally. Ideas are encouraged and considered across all departments, and everyone collaborates and contributes to bringing those ideas to life. 

What, in your eyes, sets BDx apart from its competition?

Treating all customers with honesty and respect and providing unparalleled service. Also, BDx is always looking ahead to provide their customers with the most advanced products and solutions. 

What makes BDx different from other places you’ve worked?

As it is a new data center company, many internal policies and procedures need to be established to ensure things run smoothly. Thus, I get to contribute more and provide my ideas. I didn’t have that freedom during past roles. 

What is your proudest BDx career moment, and why?

Quickly being able to independently manage and implement all HR tasks within just a few days of joining BDx. 

What traits define you?

Kindness and patience. The two complement each other, and if more people around the world allowed these traits to define who they are, the world would be a better place.

Michelle Obama

Favorite technology?

Mobility. It is the most essential part of our life.

What do you like to do in your free time? 

An array of physical exercise.
