Aceh, Sumatra – 30 January 2026 – As severe flooding continues to impact communities across Sumatra, BDx Indonesia has a joint effort with Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (Indosat or IOH) and Filantra Foundation to deliver urgent humanitarian assistance, standing alongside families who have been displaced and affected by the disaster.

Recognizing that access to clean water and daily meals is among the most critical needs during emergencies, this is a joint relief initiative focused on providing clean drinking water and operating public kitchens (Posko Dapur Umum) in flood-affected areas. The effort aims to help safeguard community health, reduce the risk of waterborne diseases, and ensure displaced families, children, and volunteers receive adequate nutrition during the response period.

Since the onset of the flooding, the initiative has supported eight public kitchen posts across Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, delivering approximately 23,000 meals and reaching an estimated 2,000–3,000 beneficiaries, including affected residents and on-site volunteers working tirelessly to support recovery efforts.

“During moments of crisis, what communities need most is to feel supported and not forgotten,” said Agus Hartono Wijaya, President Director & CEO of BDx Indonesia. “Providing clean water and warm meals is a simple but meaningful way to help families regain strength and dignity as they navigate these difficult circumstances.”

    Supporting Communities Across Sumatra

In Aceh, assistance reached communities in Aceh Tamiang, Pidie Jaya, Bireuen, Bener Meriah, and Central Aceh (Takengon), areas spanning both lowland and highland regions where flooding disrupted daily life and access to essential services. In North Sumatra, relief efforts supported flood-affected communities in Langkat Regency, helping residents and volunteers maintain access to daily meals amid challenging conditions. Meanwhile, in West Sumatra, public kitchen operations supported communities in Agam Regency and Padang City, where flooding affected residential neighbourhoods and local activities.

Across all locations, the initiative emphasized empathy and safety, ensuring that affected families were supported not only with essential supplies, but also with a sense of solidarity and reassurance during a time of uncertainty.

The collaboration between BDx Indonesia and Indosat reflects a shared commitment to social responsibility and community resilience. By working hand in hand with local partners and communities, both organizations aim to support immediate relief efforts while contributing to longer-term recovery as affected families rebuild their lives.
