BDx Platform Recognized for Its Sustainable and Industry-Leading Data Center, Accelerating Digital Transformation Across China
SINGAPORE — November 25, 2022 — Big Data Exchange (BDx), a leading carrier-neutral data center, colocation and hybrid cloud solutions provider in Asia-Pacific, is pleased to announce it has received W. Media’s 2022 Asia Pacific Cloud & Datacenter Award for its sustainable design and build project, NKG1 in Nanjing, China: A Model Data Center for New Digital Infrastructure serving the greater Northeast Asia region.
Gerald Foong, BDx Project Head, Design & Build, accepted the honor at the W. Media Asia Pacific Cloud & Datacenter Awards Gala Dinner and Ceremony at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. One of the most prestigious award programs of the digital infrastructure industry in the Asia-Pacific region, the W. Media award winners are determined by a panel of distinguished industry experts across mission-critical technology sectors.
“Our team had the vision to build an ultra-modern, sustainable and secure data center facility to meet China’s growing digital requirements and the needs of hyperscalers and enterprises across the Yangtze River Delta Region. BDx made that vision a reality with the launch of the first phase of our NKG data center campus featuring state-of-the-art technology, dynamic computing power and environmentally responsible infrastructure,” said Mayank Srivastava, CEO of BDx. “We are deeply honored to be recognized by W. Media for leading the industry with best-in-class data center design and development. This designation reflects our team’s commitment to accelerating digital transformation across Asia-Pacific through excellence in data center operations and a relentless focus on sustainability.”
BDx’s NKG1 data center is located in the heart of China’s Yangtze River Delta, one of the nation’s wealthiest regions and its largest import and export base that serves as a critical gateway to the Asia-Pacific region. Fully operational since 2021, NKG1 primarily serves the OTT media services, financial services and communications industries. NKG1 touts state-of-the-art stable and secure computing power due to its dual-utility power supply with a capacity of 2×7.5 MVA and a transformer with a 2N configuration. The facility is also equipped with high-efficiency cooling technology and modern security features.
This award is the latest accolade for BDx’s NKG1 facility. NKG1 is the recipient of the IDCC 2022 Cornerstone Award for Computing Power in the Yangtze River Delta Hub and was named Yangtze River Delta Region’s Model Data Center for New Digital Infrastructure by the CCIA and IDC Circle Committee in October 2021. NKG1 is also the first data center in Nanjing to earn Uptime Institute’s Tier III Certification of Design Documents.
Construction of the second phase of the Nanjing data center campus (NKG2), designed to launch as an autonomous, lights-out data center, is currently in progress.
